California Off Road Vehicle Association Privacy Policy

CORVA intends for, and its associated websites (now referred to as the CORVA Website) to complement the services of the organization. CORVA believes that online privacy is important to the success of the Internet and electronic commerce. This statement sets forth in the CORVA privacy policy for the CORVA Website and describes the practices CORVA follows to respect the privacy of all visitors to this site. Before changes are implemented, CORVA will post the changes here before they go into effect.

CORVA uses IP addresses to conduct system administration, report aggregate information and to conduct site analysis. CORVA does use cookies but only for “remembering a returning user or customer”. CORVA uses no third party ad services or pop-up windows. For credit-card transactions we use Pay-Flow Pro (a PayPal/E-Bay Company) for secure transactions and Go-Daddy for our internet connection.

CORVA has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.

IP Addresses

An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet. All computer identification on the Internet is conducted with IP addresses, which allow computers and servers to recognize and communicate with each other. CORVA collects IP addresses in order to conduct system administration, report aggregate information and to conduct site analysis. If a visitor requests pages from CORVA Website, our Internet server enters the visitor's IP address into a log.

To maintain visitor anonymity, the CORVA Website does not associate IP addresses with records containing personal information. However, the CORVA Website will use IP addresses to identify any visitors who threaten our service, site, customers, others or other malicious activity.

Some sites place a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. This allows CORVA to properly track all on-line payments to ensure our customer transactions are handled safely and properly.


The CORVA site features the ability to use credit cards for donations. By using the donation form the user is giving CORVA permission to verify that the credit card transaction is accepted. CORVA uses Verisign PayFlow Pro (a PayPal Company)for all on-line transactions. Our contract states that PayPal will only use the information for aggregate statistics. CORVA also uses GO- DADDY secure certificates to encrypt all information sent over the Internet. For additional security, once an on-line transaction is complete, CORVA will not keep the information on our Internet server.


CORVA uses e-mail forms to allow our customers to ask questions about our services and programs. This information is only used by the department where the e-mail is sent. These departments might use this information to communicate recurring programs or services back to the sender. If at any time the customer wishes to cancel these requests they may do so by either e-mailing, calling us directly, or editing your online profile to indicate this.

We will make every attempt to protect the personal information that you share with us. However, it is important to note that electronic mail (e-mail) is not secured against interception. If your communication is extremely sensitive, you may want to send it by postal mail instead.

CORVA uses no third party ad services whatsover, participates in any "revenue generating schemes", or anything of the like.

CORVA employs strict security measures to safeguard online transactions; personal information is stored in a secured database and always sent via an encrypted Internet channel. CORVA will not sell your personally identifiable information (your e-mail address and any contact information you provide), but we reserve the right to share certain demographic and profile data with business partners solely on an aggregated basis.

Choice/Opt-In Our site gives users the opportunity to opt-in to receive communications from at the point where we request information about the visitor.
