Welcome to Skillz Day!

Where confidence meets capability.

Whether you just bought your first Jeep or you've been wanting to hit the trails but aren't quite sure where to start, Skillz Day is for you.

Originally developed by MetalCloak over a decade ago, Skillz Day was created to help new Jeep owners build the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to safely enjoy everything their vehicle was designed to do.

Join Friends of Hungry Valley, CORVA, MetalCloak, American Offroad, and experienced volunteers for a full day of hands-on instruction at Hungry Valley SVRA in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

For just $25 per driver and $15 per passenger, you'll leave with practical skills that will completely change the way you experience your Jeep.

What You'll Learn

Think of this as Off-Roading 101—only with real Jeeps, real obstacles, and real trail experience.

Throughout the day you'll learn:

• Understanding your Jeep's 4WD system and trail capabilities

• When and how to use lockers, sway bar disconnects, and low range

• Picking the best driving line through obstacles

• Tire placement and vehicle control

• Essential off-road safety

• What recovery gear every Jeep should carry

• Recovery fundamentals and live demonstrations

• Safe and effective winch operation

• Responsible recreation and helping protect access to public lands

What Is Skillz Day?

Skillz Day is a hands-on driving experience where you'll learn by doing—not by sitting in a classroom.

Experienced instructors, volunteers, and industry professionals will coach you every step of the way, giving you the confidence to enjoy your Jeep safely both on and off the trail.

Who Should Attend?

This event is perfect for:

• New Jeep owners

• Drivers with little or no trail experience

• Jeep owners wanting to build confidence

• Previous Skillz Day participants looking for a refresher

If you're already an experienced rock crawler or seasoned trail leader, this event probably isn't designed for you.

Jeep-Only Event

This Skillz Day is exclusively for Jeep vehicles in partnership with MetalCloak.

To ensure the training curriculum matches the vehicles on the course, only Jeep models will participate in this event.

Own another type of 4x4?

Don't worry! Friends of Hungry Valley is already planning a dedicated Skillz Day specifically for other makes and models in the future.
