A Sad day in justice for American Public

On Friday February 11, 2005 the California State Park and Recreation Commission meting was held at 9:00 a.m. at the San Diego Marriott. About 40 off roaders attended meeting today. Several of  representatives from CORVA pleaded with the commission not to lock up Coyote Canyon with more Wildness.  Attorney David Hubbard did a fantastic job in speaking as did Senator Bill Morrow, but all to no avail.

Chairman Bobby Shriver, from Santa Monica had personal talk with Rick Fisher and we thought he understood the issue. He is an attorney, yet he did not understand. He stated, Coyote canyon is in wilderness (which it is not) so it make no difference if we add more of it in Wilderness.

If you sue and win, it has to come back to the commission anyway to adjust boundaries. With that and no correction from State Parks Legal staff, they voted 6 to 1 to approve the Anza Borrego General Plan.  Now the fight continues, since State Parks Commission and their staff do not listen to reason, just their lock up the public lands version, they have effectively locked out the handicap , The veterans who no longer can hike, all for a 3.1 miles road that they could easily have detoured around the riparian areas.
